How Mercari fees work
Mercari takes a selling fee of around 10 percent plus payment processing of roughly 2.9 percent and 50 cents. Listing is free. Fee structures here have been revised more than once, including periods where fees moved to buyers, so check your latest payout and set the fields to whatever you are actually charged.
You choose who pays shipping
Mercari lets you decide whether shipping comes out of your side or the buyer's, and that choice moves your margin more than the fee does. Listings with free shipping convert better, but on a heavier piece the label can cost more than the platform takes. Enter both scenarios in the calculator and compare what you keep before setting the listing up.
Good for the mid range
Mercari sits in a useful middle. The fee is lighter than Poshmark, the audience is broader than Grailed, and the listing flow is fast. It suits the mid-priced pieces that pay the bills, the simple graphic tees, knits, and crews rather than the grails. Since those are volume items, knowing your average profit per sale matters more than optimizing any single listing.
When a calculator stops being enough
A calculator answers one question at a time. Running a reselling business means knowing which stores keep returning, which categories carry your profit, how long each piece has been sitting, and what a whole month actually netted. Hauly does this math automatically across every sale and every platform, flags dead stock before you forget about it, and keeps your numbers on every device.
